Makeup Tips - 3 Gorgeous Makeup Styles To Try For A PartyApr 23, 2009

Going for a Christmas party, a new year party or a birthday party? How are you going to do your makeup?

A look at the models on the catwalks of some of the more flamboyant fashion shows reminds one of a cross between Tinkerbell and Xena, the warrior princess. You know, Amazonian height but with fairy makeup.

Now that is a look which is perfect for parties. All you need is shimmer makeup.

A point to note. Anyone above forty should avoid all out shimmer as while the shine highlights ****** features, it also draws attention to existing fine lines and wrinkles. If you are young and your face is line-free, fantasy makeup is the way to go.

Makeup Style #1. Fantasy Makeup.

For that ethereal look, get a shimmery eye shadow or a shimmer powder in silver, gold, bronze, or any flattering color that captures your fancy. You would also need a brilliant lip gloss to go over your lipstick.

Wear a lipstick that you like, which flatters you. Then go over it with the shimmery gloss. Add some shimmer powder or gold or silver flecks to the center of your lip to emphasize your pout.

For the eyes, how far dare you go?

You can apply metallic eyeshadow over your entire eyelid for a real head turning look.

Or you could use a more neutral shade like peach, brown or lilac, but highlight the inner corner of the eye by lining it with a silver or gold eye pencil.

Then lash out with black mascara.

If you like, you could even attach crystals to your eye lashes, with false lash glue. Or you could use a metallic mascara for gorgeous, magical lashes.

Finally, take a large powder brush and lightly dust shimmer powder over your cheekbones, your forehead, nose and chin.

Makeup Style #2. Dramatic Eye Makeup

Do you want Egyptian makeup or smoky eye makeup?

Both feature dramatic eyes.

However, strong eyes and strong lips would clash, so keep your look classy by going for **** lips.

For starters, do you want to use false lashes as well?

If you want really dramatic lashes, start off by trimming false lashes to fit your eyes and applying them according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Or you could just use 3 coats of mascara instead when you are done.

With a makeup brush, put on the eyeshadow over the entire eyelid. For the Egyptian look, you can go for a medium shade of eye shadow, but use liquid black liner to draw a thick line on the upper lash line. Thicken the line as you move towards and beyond the outer corner of the eye. Line the lower lash line with an eye pencil if you find the liquid liner too tricky.

For smoky eyes, go for a deeper eyeshadow like charcoal, plum, midnight blue, deep green.. you get the picture. Apply the shadow over the entire eye lid. Then line upper and lower lashes with a black eye pencil and smudge the line. Finally, apply mascara.

Pick a **** shade for the lipstick or use a light lip gloss so that your lips do not compete with your eyes.

If you want goth makeup, leave your cheeks pale. If not, then use a blusher to contour your face or for radiance.

Makeup Style #3. Luscious lips.

If your lips are sensuous, or anything remotely like Angelina Jolie’s, then focus on your lips.

For your eyes, apply a peach or **** brown shadow and a single coat of mascara.

Then choose a strong red lipstick, or a deep wine shade for your lips.

Use a lip pencil to line the lips. The use a lip brush to fill in your lips with your chosen lipstick. Use some blusher to add color to your cheeks and you are done.

These tips assume that you already have a great base to work with. Meaning, start off with foundation over your face for a great canvas.

Makeup Tips From P3 BeautyApr 22, 2009

In high school, I was the guy cutting class with his girlfriends in the ladies room. Yah, I was a rebel like that. One of my best friends at the time, a dead ringer for Marilyn Monroe, always used to say, “No girl is too pretty for makeup.”

I think it was just her excuse to put on more lipstick or powder her nose; usually both.

The only time I’ve worn full face paint – in drag as Posh Spice for Halloween – the look was a far cry from your average everyday gal at the office.

It’s easy to pluck a few items from the bin when you’re painting on a clown face, but otherwise I have no idea how you ladies out there wrangle the vast abyss of the cosmetics isle. I’ve heard some people don’t come back. They become discombobulated by the endless choices and never return…

And so, naturally, one wonders what a woman must do to find her way. Terri Apanasewicz is here to help those poor lost souls along the path to a natural looking complexion.

Terri turned her professional knowledge as a celebrity makeup artist and founded P3 Beauty; creating a team of professionals who can teach you how to do flawless makeup in your own home. With her history of clients like Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bundchen, no doubt the P3 team has been making a lot of house calls!

Terri is all about making her beauty secrets accessible. Although we could not meet face to face, she was actually kind enough to email me a few pointers:

“When using a mineral powder foundation such as Amazing Velvet, apply your concealer, first and set with translucent powder and finish up with mineral powder. This will put a barrier between concealer and mineral powder so it doesn’t grab dark in the spots where there is concealer.

“After applying eye pencil, always follow by smudging it with a brush and set with a powder product like an eye shadow of the same color. This will enhance the eye and allow for a longer wearing liner.

“If you like color on your lips but not the feeling of lipstick, try a lip stain like Sheer or Shimmering stains from Liptini. They come in a large variety of colors. Finish up with a gloss. The gloss might wear off though the stain will stay on even after eating.”

Thanks girlfriend, you just scored me some points next time I’m in the ladies room!

Simple Eye Makeup TipsApr 22, 2009

Want to amp up your daytime look to a night time look? Maybe change the shape of your eyes while at it? Check out the tips we have to offer.

Remember the make up that you choose for your eyes should emphasize the natural color of your eyes. With smoky eyes the must have for all nighttime looks, its easy to do it once you have the basics down. There is so many things that you can do with your eyes by using the right makeup.

Just take the time to figure out what works for you. Remember if the color of the month doesn’t look good on you, don’t bother buying it!

Amp up your daytime look to evening? Try this tip:

Using your favorite shade on the lid, from the lash line to the crease. Its time to go slightly darker than your daytime color, unless you have very deep set eyes. By adding shadowing you can add more depth to your eyes.

If possible remove the eye shadow that you used during the day or go for a darker shade.

Load your makeup brush with a darker shade and press the color into the crease moving from outer to the inner corner.

Blend the deeper shade so that it extends a bit above and below the crease.

Line the upper and lower lash lines with a pencil or liquid eyeliner. If using a pencil smudge it along the lash line top and bottom to deepen your smoky look.

If you already have mascara on, reapply it on the outer corner lashes to darker them. If you do not have mascara on yet, apply it lightly, then apply your Magic Lash to enhance your lashes and make them look thicker. Then reapply your mascara over your Magic Lash to make your eyelashes lush and totally out there! Must have for all smoky eyes.

If you want to make your eyes look a little more rounder, try this tip:

To make your eyes look rounder, add eye shadow to both the upper and lower lids.Another way to do this is to use an eye liner and outline the base of your lashes.

If you want to make your eyes look a little more oval, try this tip:

To make your eyes look more oval draw a line at the base of your lashes thickening the line slightly in the middle.

Eyes to close together? Try this tip:

To make your eyes look further apart start your eyeliner line away from the inner corner of your eye and make it slightly thicker towards the outer edge, extending it in a slightly upward stroke.

Eyes to far apart? Try this tip:

To make your eyes appear closer together you are virtually creating the opposite illusion to what you did to make your eyes look further apart. In this case the eyeliner would be slightly thicker at the inner corner of the eye and you would stop the line at the outer edge feathering it off slightly thinner.

Don’t forget that if you are trying these tips, take your time to see what works for you and what may not. Your eyes are the windows to your soul they say, what give them a party to see?

Easy Removing Makeup TipsApr 21, 2009

Women make up the most percentage in the buying market; ranging from fitness, hair, fashion, jewels, and of course, the make-up. Their physical appearance seems to be the ultimate manufacturer’s dream because of so many products to market and sell. Just the women’s face shows multitude of product potentials to offer; eye coloring, lipstick, blush-on, and many more, thus giving birth to the Makeup.

It is an important part of a women’s life which is almost like an important component of daily routine for other people. There are times that women ornament themselves in a much better manner during some special occasion like the wedding and parties and while there is no denying the importance of makeup, you should also remember to remove makeup in a safe way to keep your skin soft, supple and healthy.

It is necessary to remove makeup before going to bed so that your skin does not lose its natural charm. However, removing makeup is an art too and you need to follow some basic tips for it. Usually women indulge in a lot of eye makeup for that smoky, bold and captivating eye look. However, removing eye makeup is not as simple as it seem.

Think Mascaras are hard to remove? Then consider using Baby shampoo because unlike other removers which mascara usually resist, it is effective. Extra virgin olive oil is also helpful. Apply few drops on a cotton ball and softly massage the eye region to let go off waterproof mascaras. Never use harsh remover or solutions as most of them can dry out your skin. Instead go in for mild makeup removers and there are ****** cleansers according to skin types. Baby oil is an effective way of removing all kinds of makeup in a safe and healthy way and its very easy to do.

Rule of the thumb: never go to bed with your makeup on as that can hamper your skin’s quality, softness and health; eventually making you look older than your age. Others claim that it made their skin rough and dull mainly due to the remnants of the chemicals that come with applying makeup. Scary isn’t it?

Beauty Makeup Tips in SummerApr 19, 2009

In Summer, the light from the sun is stronger than ever and so any imperfections on our faces may be highlighted more than in winter or in darker light.

However, it is essential in summer that you actually lighten your make up rather than increase it. If you cake on the make up in summer it will be visible for all to see and look quite stupid.

Furthermore, the heat of the sun may literally melt your face! with the result of not only looking bad but having a bad effect on your skin too.

Thus, stick to a little shimmering powder and highlight your eyes, maybe a little lipstick but otherwise leave as is.

Summer is not the time to pile on the makeup or whip up elaborate hairstyles. So, do I go bareface and pull my hair up into a knot every day to stay cool? I wish I could, but few of us can get away with that. So, here is a list of my favorites.

· First of all comes the sunblock. I never go out the door without a little protection. My face is already thanking me for that!

· While I might not apply a foundation, I do need a little color on my cheeks. I find that stains or blush creams give just the right amount of color and it looks natural.

·There is nothing prettier than seeing shiny hair on the beach and nothing worse than seeing long, dull, tresses. But it takes a little work. The sun is hard on your hair too. Condition well and use products especially formulated for the summer sun.

· I can get away without eye shadow, but I do need eye liner. And because I have oily lids, I always prep the lid. There is nothing worse that eye liner that has smeared. Not a pretty site. BTW, most cosmetic companies offer great products to prevent your eye makeup from melting.

·Heavy lipsticks aren’t for summer either. Look for something sheer. I often mix my lipsticks with a little petroleum jelly. It softens the color and offers great shine too.

· Polish those toenails, and while you are at it, make sure that your heels are free of dead skin. You might not notice it, but everyone else will.

· Keep your eyes open for little summer bags. I recently picked one up that was part of a set from Victoria Secret. Have you checked out their fragrances? Now, I not only smell good, I have a great little bag as well!

Another more helpful tips

Use a waterproof eyeliner for lasting power. You can also moisten your favourite shadow with water and apply it to your lash line.

Wear waterproof mascara to eliminate smudges under the eyes.

When it comes to cheeks, apply a stain to the apple to create a long-lasting effect.

Finish your look with the bronzer of your choice.

Once you apply your lipstick or gloss, place a tissue over your lips, run your finger across the paper and then remove the tissue. This will help to get rid of the excess but will not take away the pigment. Last but not least, have fun with your makeup. If you make a mistake you can always start again.

Prom Night Makeup TipsApr 19, 2009

Types of makeup

Pancake makeup is powdered in form and is usually applied with a powderpuff. Oftened used as foundational or setting makeup

Cream-Cream based makeup is the most widely purchased at halloween, comes in a variety of colors with multi packs oftened centered towards a specific makeup design, witch, devil, ghost.

Comparable to grease paints but removal is easier.

Makeup Tips

Keep it Simple: At the mere mention of Prom, many girls assume they need to layer on the makeup to get that fashionable, special occasion look. In reality it’s quite the opposite. Keeping your makeup simple can be the best way to achieve elegant beauty that will look great in prom pictures. The best way to keep it simple is to strike a balance. If you want to wear vibrant and elaborate eye makeup, choose a simple lip stick and vice versa.

Heavily hair sprayed style

Another bad hair day.

At first, the hairstyle is good for prom.

However, as soon as the time comes for you to go to prom night, the hairstyle has been different or you just don’t feel comfortable with it anymore.

Rosy, Fresh Cheeks

For an innocent, girl-next-door look on prom night, follow these steps to showcase your rosy cheeks and fresh femininity.

1. Start the look by using a small amount of foundation sparingly on any blemishes or uneven patches of skin.

2. If you have any marks that foundation will not cover, use a concealer first and set it with loose powder.

3. Apply a cream blush in a rosy shade to your cheeks, beginning at the apple of your cheeks and blending outward. Be sure to blend the blush well so that you do not end up with a garish, frightening look.

Stick with Your Style:

The prom is a one night occasion but that doesn’t mean you need to find a one time style. If you tend to look better or feel more comfortable in brown eyeliner don’t feel you need to switch to black for the prom. The same is true for your eye shadow and lip color. This doesn’t mean you need to wear the same makeup you use everyday. Instead, use your daily makeup as inspiration for your prom night makeup. Choose colors that are similar but add a little extra to your appearance.

Natural Eye Shadow Colors

Natural eye shadow colors will be seen during 2008. This includes beiges, browns, whites and grays. Light shades of plumb purple will also be seen quite a lot. In 2008, you will also notice that the amount of eye shadow that women apply to their eyelids will be reduced, in comparison to recent years. Overall, it’s best to not go heavy on brightly colored eye shadows.

Bring the Essentials With You: Even the best of makeup can get smudged on an action packed prom night. Take a few essentials with you to make sure you don’t have a makeup or hair disaster. Be sure to put these items in your purse before you set foot out of the house:

• lip gloss/ stick

• extra bobby pins

• small bottle of hair spray

• blotting papers

• mascara

• mini mirror

Beauty Tips - The Face Makeup TipsApr 17, 2009

We all don’t have the same skin type; no matter what we do we can’t really change the skin we were born with. Having said that there are many things you can do to improve the existing look of your skin so it looks much better than it does. This is especially true for your face; there are thousands of creams and lotions out there that promise to make your ****** skin look like to moon. But don’t given in to all that advertising, you can follow easy, time saving steps that will enable you to improve your skin without having to spend hundreds of dollars on over the counter products.

Now lets face it, we can’t all have skin like Julia Roberts. Like it or not, even with the best skin-care available, you can only to so much to improve the skin you inherited from your parents. But that doesn’t mean you have to walk around feeling pasty or drab. With a little bit of makeup, properly used, you can handily cover up blemishes, even out your skin tone, and feel good about your face. So make the best of what you’ve got with these simple steps and products.

First, a good foundation for your face is the foundation of your look. Foundation, or base makeup, is the first step towards a beautiful, clear look. They come in many different finishes, so pick your foundation according to your desired outcome, whether you want to have a light sheen or glow, or a powdered, matt finish. And nothing undermines a good foundation like a bad tone match. Make sure that you match your foundation exactly to your face’s skin tone to avoid a painted, sloppy look. Testing a new foundation on the back of your hand is usually a good indication of a match, but you may need more than one tone for different seasons.

Rub your foundation evenly across your whole face to help conceal blemishes and give your face a consistent color. Make sure to rub it in thoroughly at your face’s edge, so that you don’t have a visible line along your jaw and hairline where your makeup ends. If you have blemishes that are still visible, you may want to use a skin-toned concealer to cover them. Dab a small amount on the area in need, and then blend it in with the surrounding foundation. Those who desire a mat finish may want to consider a powder, both to prevent shine and to help set the underlying foundation. If not, you will still probably want to use blush, to restore some color to your face. When lightly applied to the cheekbones with a blush brush, with the lightest coloring to your chin, the top of your nose and your forehead, a little blush helps give you a natural healthy look. As with the foundation, make sure you chose a color that matches your overall complexion. Choosing a color that doesn’t fit with your overall look can give you a toy-like look, just like an unblended foundation border, so chose your colors and blend them with care.

And finally, make sure you always completely remove your makeup before bed. Your skin will look better from the start, and will look that much better with your makeup on.

As you can see you don’t need to be rich to improve the look of your skin, with some time and knowledge you can do a much better job than commercial creams and lotions.

How to Apply Monsoon Makeup - Monsoon Makeup TipsApr 16, 2009

ns, dense makeup has a risk of being smudged and washed out severely and so light and sheer makeup is more advisable. Use waterproof mascara, transfer-resistant lipsticks and waterproof liners and may even use waterproof foundation, if it is a must for you. Indian girls can put their ‘kajal’ (kohl) away until winters. Here are some tips to keep you pretty when it is raining cats and dogs:

Tips on Monsoon Makeup

It is important to thoroughly wash and cleanse your face before putting on your make up. You can also rub an ice on your face for about five to ten minutes so it can lower the sweating rate of your face. These steps will let your makeup stay for a longer time.

Before wearing monsoon makeup, it is essential to put on a velvety base to cool and refresh your skin. For those who have oily skin, you can use an astringent while for those who have dry and normal skin can use a toner.

Using a foundation is not advisable for monsoon makeup instead a slight powder will do. Sheer films are also best as monsoon makeup. The sheer colors can be light brown, pastel, pink or beige cream eye shadow that can be used as well with eyeliners with thick lines. For lipstick, soft matte is the most preferable one for the ladies. It can be a pink shade or soft brown with sheer gloss.

Avoid wearing lip gloss during the monsoon season.

The main reason is because the rain will cause it to wash off. Instead, be sure to opt for a long lasting lipstick. You can really wear whatever shade of long lasting lipstick you prefer, but remember that it is always best to go natural during any time of the year. Since most people do not tend to overdress during monsoon season, you will probably want to choose shades of pinks, browns or peaches. Reds and bolder colors can easily be worn at night, however.

Grow your eyebrows out before the monsoon season comes.

That way, you will not need to worry about using an eyebrow pencil to achieve the eyebrows that you are interested in. An eyebrow pencil may also wash off your face during monsoon season, which is probably something that you may be too embarrassed by to want to experience. The best thing that you can do is pluck, trim or wax your eyebrows to get the design that you want.

Preparing the Base

Base of makeup is prepared by foundation. If you can do without it, nothing is better than that. If necessary, apply as little as possible. If you apply cream foundation, it gets melt with water easily. Powder foundations are better than this. Face powder is even better.

You can use silicon base foundation as it gets blended with skin and becomes its part. On the other hand, if you use water-based foundation, it will get patchy with even one drop of water. You can apply just moisturizer and then translucent powder. Do not apply excess of powder; instead use it sparingly because when wet it gives sickly and chalky look.
